Dr. Matt was raised in Boerne. He earned an undergraduate degree in Biomedical Sciences from Texas A&M University in 2008, and earned his DVM from the Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences in 2012. Dr. Matt brought his wife and children back to Boerne in the fall of 2012 to join Dr. Lee in running Fair Oaks Ranch Veterinary Clinic. In January 2017, Dr. Matt purchased Fair Oaks Ranch Veterinary Clinic from his dad as its sole owner, and was joined in this endeavor by his sister-in-law, Dr. Jaci, in April 2018. Since he has several businesses that demand his focus, DR. MATT NO LONGER SEES CLIENTS, but he still maintains a passion for veterinary medicine and loves to help his Vet Ranch patients; in his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, working out, and (of course) demolition.
Co-Owner and Veterinarian
Dr. Jaci Carriker
Dr. Jaci was raised in San Antonio. She attended the Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences and graduated with her DVM in 2012. Dr. Jaci worked at a busy veterinary hospital in Copperas Cove, Texas (near Killeen) for almost 6 years before moving her family of four to Boerne in the fall of 2017 and becoming a co-owner of FORVC in the spring of 2018. She and her husband, Mark, have two children, Ellie and Abram, and a three-legged cat named Little. In her free time, Dr. Jaci enjoys spending as much time with her family as possible, home improvement projects, and trying new foods.
Dr. Kelsey Marquez
Dr. Kelsey grew up in Lake Jackson, Texas before moving to Boerne and graduating from Boerne High School in 2006. She studied Animal Science at Texas A&M University before receiving her DVM from the TAMU College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences in 2013. Dr. Kelsey enjoys small animal medicine and her special interests include preventative care and internal medicine. Her husband, Carlos, is also a small animal veterinarian in San Antonio and they have two beautiful daughters, Elena and Rosario, a horse (Mac), two dogs (Addie and Gracie), and two cats (Roux and Shelton). In her spare time, she enjoys being outdoors, spending time with her family, and trail riding with her mom.
Dr. Nate Jue
Dr. Nate was raised in Sacramento, California. He received his undergraduate degree in Animal Science from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo in 2008 and received his DVM from U.C. Davis College of Veterinary Medicine in 2013. Dr. Nate took his education one step further and also completed a three-year residency in comparative theriogenology at Virginia Tech. We were beyond thrilled that he, his wife, Christina, moved their family to Texas in the spring of 2019 to join our team. Dr. Nate and Christina have a daughter and son, Amilia and Theodore, 3 dogs (Ahri, Rupert, and August), and 3 cats (Nami, Winnie, and Arya)! In his free time, Dr. Nate enjoys spending time with his family, horseback riding, and PC gaming.
Dr. Lee Carriker
Congratulations on your retirement Dr. Lee Carriker! Dr. Lee was the original owner and founder of the Fair Oaks Ranch Veterinary Clinic. He attended Texas A&M and graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine in 1987. He and his wife, Pat moved to Boerne in 1989, and in 1997, he opened Fair Oaks Ranch Veterinary Clinic where he practiced until he retired in October 2017. He and his wife have raised four children together: Matt, Mark, Ali and Drew, and they now have five grandchildren! Dr. Lee passed his love for veterinary medicine on to his family, which currently includes four doctors of veterinary medicine – Dr. Lee, Dr. Matt, Mark’s wife Dr. Jaci, and Dr. Ali. Although he misses his patients and clients greatly, he was thrilled to be able to continue his legacy by passing on the family business to Dr. Matt and Dr. Jaci. In his retirement, Dr. Lee is enjoying spending time with his family, working on the ranch, tinkering with cars, and playing guitar.
